Effective October 7, 2026
Blessed Income Tax Service, Inc. (“BITS,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, client portal, phone and email, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It also serves as our privacy notice under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).

Please do not send Social Security numbers, tax documents, or financial account details through the website form or by standard email. Use the secure client portal.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your request and set up your client portal account.
- To prepare, review, and electronically file your tax returns and related forms.
- To communicate with you about your return, IRS or state notices, and our services.
- To maintain records required by law and professional standards.
- To secure our systems, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Tax return information (IRC §7216)
Federal law (Internal Revenue Code §7216 and Treasury Regulation §301.7216) strictly limits how tax return preparers may use and disclose your tax return information. We use your tax return information only to prepare and file your returns and as otherwise permitted by those rules. We will not use or disclose it for any other purpose, including marketing, without first obtaining your separate, signed written consent in the form the IRS requires. You may decline or revoke any such consent.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With the IRS and state and local tax agencies, to file your returns at your direction.
- With service providers that help us operate, such as our website form processor, email service, secure client portal, tax software, e-filing transmitter, and payment processor, under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only for our services.
- When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others, as permitted by §7216.
- With your consent or at your direction (for example, with your lender or another advisor you designate).
5. How we protect information
We maintain a written information security program as required by the FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314) and IRS Publication 4557, including encrypted transfer and storage of client documents, access controls, multi-factor authentication, staff training, and incident response procedures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. If a security incident affects your information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
6. How long we keep information
We keep client records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, regulatory, and professional record-keeping requirements (generally at least three years after a return is filed, and longer where required). We then securely delete or destroy them.
7. Cookies, analytics and Do Not Track
Our website does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Our web host may keep standard server logs for security and performance. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy first. Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites, we respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals by continuing not to track or sell your information. Our client portal is operated by a third-party provider and may use cookies necessary for sign-in and security.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or targeted advertising. We do not do these things.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Certain financial information we hold is governed by GLBA rather than state consumer privacy laws, but we will respond to every request in good faith. To make a request, email filing@blessedits.com or call 281-346-3131. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent, and where state law provides a right to appeal our decision, you may appeal by replying to our response.
9. Calls, texts and email
Phone and text. When you submit your information through our website, you agree that we may contact you by phone call or text message about your request and your tax services. We will not use your phone number for marketing purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or ask us to stop calling.
Email. We may email you about your request and your tax return, and we may send tax-season reminders, deadline notices, and updates about our services. Every reminder and update email includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing filing@blessedits.com with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. We will honor your request within 10 business days. Unsubscribing from reminders and updates does not stop emails we need to send about an active engagement, such as document requests or filing confirmations.
10. Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. We collect information about dependents only from a parent or guardian to prepare the family’s tax return.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify current clients.
